Spoilt Sport

The Spoilt Sport was the distinguished yacht owned by Simon Greyshade, who functioned as the administrator of the casino space station referred to as the Wheel. Displaying extravagance and high cost, the Spoilt Sport was stationed on the Wheel and integrated into its communication network. In the year 0 ABY, Greyshade met his death during a conflict involving Wheel Security forces and Imperial stormtroopers. Subsequently, control of the yacht passed to Rebel operatives Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, who utilized it to evade Imperial pursuit. They then transported the ship to Centares and exchanged it for a less conspicuous vessel.

Description

The Spoilt Sport from above.

The Spoilt Sport, a radiant, golden yacht, functioned as the personal starship of the former Imperial Senator, Simon Greyshade, during his tenure as the Administrator of the casino space station called the Wheel. Greyshade took substantial measures to ensure his exclusive access to the yacht, configuring the ship's security system to recognize only his handprint. He housed the Spoilt Sport in Docking Bay 10 on the Wheel, connecting it to the station's communications infrastructure, which enabled him to conduct holo-calls to individuals on the Wheel while remaining on his ship.

History

During the Galactic Civil War, the Spoilt Sport was the property of Wheel Administrator Simon Greyshade, a period when the station became a focal point of intrigue between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. In the year 0 ABY, Commander Zertik Strom of the Empire, aiming to justify the Empire's direct takeover of the Wheel, orchestrated a staged Rebel attack on a merchant vessel carrying profits away from the station. While Strom and Greyshade had an agreement to facilitate the Imperial scheme, Greyshade deployed a squad of Wheel Security officers to assault Strom's cruiser and conceal the illicit profits aboard the Spoilt Sport. When prisoners of the Rebel Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, intending to reveal the plot, attempted to trace the security team back to the yacht, a fierce firefight ensued. Skywalker attempted to confront the officers alone, but his advance up the Spoilt Sport's loading ramp was interrupted when Greyshade surprised him, brandishing a blaster.

Greyshade escorted Skywalker and Organa onto the Spoilt Sport to initiate negotiations, during which the Wheel administrator proposed generous terms. He offered to allow the Rebels to expose Strom's scheme and secure the release of Organa's friends, requesting only one thing in return: that Organa, a former colleague in the Imperial Senate with whom he was long enamored, depart with him on his yacht to an unknown destination. After witnessing her close friend Han Solo seemingly perish in the Wheel's Big Game gladiatorial arena, Organa reluctantly accepted the offer. However, before Greyshade and Organa could depart in the Spoilt Sport, Strom declared martial law on the station and dispatched his stormtroopers to apprehend Greyshade, having discovered the administrator's betrayal. Greyshade promptly left the ship and prepared for the Imperials to storm Docking Bay 10, allowing Skywalker and Organa to escape aboard the Spoilt Sport. Both Greyshade and Strom were killed in the resulting conflict.

Despite the Rebels' escape from the Wheel in Greyshade's yacht, they were not yet safe, soon encountering a Star Destroyer under the command of the Sith Lord Darth Vader, who had arrived at the Wheel in search of Skywalker. However, they were rescued by the timely arrival of Solo and his Millennium Falcon, which engaged the battleship, enabling the Spoilt Sport to escape. Skywalker and Organa immediately took the yacht to Centares, where they exchanged it with local starship dealer Jorman Thoad for a less ostentatious, more reliable scout craft. After Greyshade's demise, the station was seized by Imperial Captain Mulchive Wermis, who governed as Administrator for several years until the Rebels liberated the Wheel. Control then transferred to Master-Com, a mobile supercomputer that had served as Greyshade's second-in-command. Master-Com acted as Administrator for 97 years, until the droid disappeared in 101 ABY. Rumors circulated widely regarding Master-Com's sudden disappearance, including a claim that one of its interchangeable droid bodies had been observed piloting the antique Spoilt Sport toward a supposed "Droid World."
