Mabob, the Brother, belonged to the Ancient Order of Pessimists located on Maryx Minor. Being an especially fervent pessimist, Mabob pleaded with the leader of the order, the High Hermit, to refuse entry to the Enemy of the Empire, Abal Karda, when he arrived at the hermitage seeking refuge while being hunted by Boba Fett.
Throughout Karda's stay with the pessimists, Mabob became certain that the Imperial fugitive would murder him for any reason, which led the High Hermit to comment that he was exhibiting excessive pessimism.
Regrettably, Mabob's pessimistic outlook proved correct. As Karda conversed with the disembodied head of Selestrine, Mabob overheard their conversation while leaving Karda's food outside his cell door. Karda, enraged by what he perceived as Mabob spying on him, fatally shot Mabob. Soon after, Mabob received the customary funeral of the Ancient Order, which involved his body being disposed of in a lava pit.
