Maoi Madakor
A Human female, Maoi Madakor, held the rank of captain within the Judicial Forces during the final years of the Galactic Republic.
Biography
Madakor served as the captain of the Radiant VII in 32 BBY, piloting it during the Battle of Galidraan. Her mission involved transporting Jedi to the surface of a planet. During this operation, she met and developed a friendship with Lieutenant Antidar Williams, a pilot of the Acceptance. They subsequently flew together at the Battle of Uhanayih, where Williams' spacecraft was obliterated, resulting in his reassignment to piloting shuttles for senators.
The following year, recalling their prior camaraderie and the Galidraan mission, she specifically selected Williams to serve as her copilot for a mission transporting Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi to the Naboo system. Their purpose was to facilitate negotiations with the Trade Federation concerning their Blockade of the planet Naboo. Upon their arrival in the system, she established communication with Nute Gunray, the Neimoidian leader of the Trade Federation, requesting immediate boarding access to the Saak'ak for the Jedi, identified as ambassadors of Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum. Gunray complied with this request. Despite successfully delivering the Jedi, they were compelled to await their return. Subsequently, they detected a turbolaser turret descending from the ceiling, positioned to target the Radiant VII. With no means of escape, she perished when the Trade Federation's turbolaser fire annihilated her vessel. Her final action was to order the activation of the deflector shield, but it was too late to save them.
Behind the scenes
Bronagh Gallagher played Maoi Madakor in The Phantom Menace. In the introductory scenes of the Episode I segment of LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, she and Williams were replaced by characters from the Royal Naboo Security Forces.
