Magur Torigai was a zoologist of the Mon Calamari species and of male gender.
Magur Torigai took up residence in the city of Restuss located on Rori during 1 ABY. During his time there, he dedicated his time to studying the local wildlife on the moon. He soon discovered that a population of gubburs—brought to Rori from Corellia by a researcher who lacked foresight—had escaped and were breeding without control. Torigai was worried that they would be harmful to Rori's delicate ecosystem, so he hired a spacer who was well-armed to assist him in reducing the gubbur population. The spacer inquired about why the researcher had introduced gubburs to Rori, and why local predators weren't eliminating them. Magur explained that gubburs possessed three lengthy whiskers, which they utilized to sense weather patterns and tectonic activity. The researcher's aim was to determine if gubburs could predict earthquakes on Rori. He also mentioned that gubburs were well-known for their repulsive odor, similar to the smell of burning leather, which acted as a deterrent to most of the native predators.
In the end, the spacer consented to aid Magur, and ventured into the wilderness to manage the gubbur population. The spacer was successful and went back to Magur to receive his payment. However, Magur's problems were far from over. He obtained information about another non-native animal, a Guf drolg from Talus, that was jeopardizing the local ecosystem. This creature was omnivorous, bad-tempered, and generally aggressive. The spacer once more agreed to assist Magur, by going out to eliminate the Guf drolg, which was consuming a large number of native species. Fortunately, the spacer accomplished his mission, and Magur rewarded him again for his efforts.
It seems Magur was evacuated from the city by the Empire prior to the outbreak of the Battle of Restuss.
Magur Torigai was a non-player character (NPC) featured in the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies released in 2003. He was removed from the game on June 27, 2006 due to the modifications implemented to Restuss.
