Magus (hilt)

Displayed are the lightsabers belonging to Taron Malicos, a demonstration of the Magus design. Magus was a lightsaber hilt design available in both single and double-bladed forms. These lightsabers, constructed in this style, had emitters that featured a pair of spike-like projections on each side, along with intricate engravings. The hilt then narrowed into a square-patterned segment, which was joined to a ringed handgrip and a pointed pommel. In the case of double-bladed versions, the pommels were connected.

By the year 14 BBY, the disgraced Jedi General Taron Malicos utilized two matching lightsabers, built in the Magus style, during his tenure on the world of Dathomir, where he led a group of Nightbrother soldiers. Predominantly made of bronze, these sabers also incorporated chrome hued alloy accents, a black handhold, and projected crimson blades. In 14 BBY, Malicos engaged Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis in combat with his Magus lightsabers when Kestis ventured to Dathomir as part of a covert operation to restore the Jedi Order.
