The Manda-Roon Merchant Route represented a hyperlane connecting the planet of Manda to Roon. Roon itself resided in The Cloak of the Sith region of the galaxy.
Mungo Baobab charted this course, which, along with the relatively obscure Death Wind Corridor, stood as one of only a pair of pathways through that perilous sector of hyperspace. Despite its heavy use, even experienced astronavigators found the route difficult. To ensure successful navigation, a chain of nav-beacons were affixed to "lightstation" space stations along the way. Before the advent of these lightstations, travelers, like Baobab during his initial exploration, relied on the yearly journey of the rainbow comet for guidance.
