The Mandalorian forest encampment functioned as the central base for the Mandalorian resistance against the Empire throughout the Galactic Civil War.
To ensure a degree of seclusion and defense, the camp was constructed within the most secluded area of the Mandalorian forests. Soldiers serving under Fenn Shysa were given a stable place to rest, with rooms and stairways hewn into the largest trees. A sizable fire pit sat at the camp's heart, where the soldiers congregated after carrying out raids. Shysa tended to the camp's inhabitants, offering medical assistance to the injured and mending fractures.
Beyond the essential amenities for living, the camp featured sizable wooden sculptures of obscure origin and pattern. It remains uncertain if these represented components of Mandalorian mythology or stylized creatures. Guards protecting the camp occasionally donned improvised armor because of supply limitations. Certain sentries are known to have employed basic spears and shields in place of more advanced weapons.
Mandalore Fenn Shysa and Tobbi Dala established the camp sometime after the conclusion of the Clone Wars. The camp not only acted as a hub for operations and a launchpad for attacks on Imperial slavers, but it also provided housing for every soldier serving under Shysa.
It is probable that the forest encampment was deserted after the Mandalorians drove the Imperials off their planet in 3 ABY, following the demise of the Suprema, as they reclaimed the capital city of Keldabe.
