Professor Makuskett held the position of Chair of Metagrowth and Polymorphism at the University of Sanbra. He harbored a prejudice against the Imperial forces. He journeyed to Endor on three separate occasions, and also spent time among the Gupins twice, experiencing perilous encounters with the menacing Grass Trekkers; during one such expedition, specifically in 12 ABY, he joined a team of biologists dispatched to examine the native and introduced species inhabiting the moon, carrying a concussion rifle for defense against the Grass Trekkers. His specific areas of interest included Gupin shapeshifting abilities and the region's inherent magic.
