University of Sanbra seal
Located on the planet Sanbra, the University of Sanbra was well-known for the strength of its programs in both sentientology and xenobiology. Tem Eliss drew upon his experiences within these very programs to author The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life.
During the era known as the Republic Dark Age, the Sith Lord named Odion plundered the University of Sanbra under orders from his uncle, Chagras. He absconded with university research pertaining to the Helm of Ieldis, a fabled Sith artifact.
For nearly two decades, Callow Batta, a pirate, served as a professor of governmental and political history at the college on Sanbra. Another faculty member was a professor named Eppington. Rynalla, a Profex and a secret adept and scholar of the dark side, was associated with the ancient history department at the University of Sanbra. While researching lost Sith practices on campus, she uncovered information indicating that the Bracers of Najus, a lost Sith treasure, resided within the wreckage of a starship on the planet Leritor. This discovery motivated her journey to that world to retrieve the artifact. Furthermore, University archives linked the crashed Sith vessel to a similarly forgotten and booby-trapped Sith stronghold. The university's Chair of Metagrowth and Polymorphism, Mankuskett, journeyed to Endor with the intention of studying the planet's diverse array of lifeforms. Corellia Antilles held a position at the University of Sanbra as a xenoarchaeologist.
The University operated a research branch on the Jedi starship known as the Chu'unthor. The Q'Maere Research Facility had its start as a scientific outpost established by the University of Sanbra. Its purpose was to investigate specialized fields of planetology and xenobiology within the region of space known as the Kathol Rift.
