Rynalla

Professor Rynalla, occasionally referenced as "Profex Rynalla", was a Human female Dark Side Adept, in addition to being an archaeologist and academic, connected to the University of Sanbra. While she was excavating on the planet of Leritor to locate a Sith artifact, her actions ignited a conflict between a group of Human colonists and the indigenous Sauvax.

Biography

Rynalla, a Force-sensitive female Human, was a scholar associated with the ancient history department at the renowned University of Sanbra. She possessed expertise in galactic history, archaeology, and the knowledge of various Force-user traditions, including the Jedi Order, the Sith, and other forgotten organizations. In secret, Rynalla delved into the study of the Sith and the practices of the dark side to amplify her own powers in the Force.

During her research within the University's archives, Rynalla came across information indicating that a lost Sith treasure, known as the Bracers of Najus, had been lost on Leritor, after the Sith starship carrying it crash-landed there. Desiring the relic, as the Bracers could amplify the power of the dark side, she employed two dozen Klatooinian soldiers and traveled to Leritor aboard her bulk freighter, accompanied by her two PTR-3 Vedette snub fighters. Upon arriving, Rynalla located the Sith starship partially buried within the mountain range called the Bleaks, where she promptly set up a dig site using prefabricated structures. Observing two distinct groups on the planet—the Human settlers who cultivated the inland prairies and the native Sauvax residing along the coast—she resolved to capture robust individuals from each group and use them as slave miners to unearth the ship.

Rynalla's forces launched a raid on one of the massive harvester machines utilized by the farmers, the nearby Nellist. The stronger colonists were taken prisoner, while the weaker ones were killed using the traditional Sauvax weapon, the gruush, to manipulate the other Humans on the planet into blaming the Sauvax, regardless of what a more precise investigation would have revealed. Similarly, the Klatooinians attacked a Sauvax community, referred to as a kuuvan, again killing the weak and enlisting the strong. They used blasters, to make the Sauvax in other kuuvans suspect that the Human farmers were responsible for the assault. Thus, Rynalla instigated a war between the Sauvax and the farmers, distracting them while she secured her prize.

In total, fifty Human and Sauvax prisoners were captured. They were forced to work, with the amphibious Sauvax assigned to the deepest submerged sections of the ship, all under the constant guard of armed Klatooinians. Rynalla withheld the nature of her search from the captives, but every two days, she would remove the exhausted laborers while she searched for the Bracers and the Klatooinians checked for any attempts to create an escape tunnel. Rynalla's waste disposal contaminated a nearby river, a change noticed by several local Sauvax. She remained confident, however, that no one would suspect the existence of a slave camp. More concerned about fugitives than intruders, Rynalla established a second, smaller camp near the mountain's edge to intercept and execute any runaways; five individuals met their end there.

A Sauvax kuuvan, led by their tevelor, mistakenly believing that the farmers intended to exterminate their species, surrounded the combine-reaper Gevion and demanded an explanation. Since the farmers believed the Sauvax to be an aggressive and murderous species, they were too cautious to send an envoy; resulting in a stalemate, as the Sauvax refused to allow the Gevion to harvest its crop. This situation threatened to escalate into war, but a group of offworlders intercepted a distress call from the Gevion and offered to mediate. These individuals launched an investigation and soon traced a path to Rynalla's camp. Rynalla discovered the Bracers of Najus just in time to confront the intruders. Ultimately, however, she was defeated, and peace was restored to Leritor.
