Marfalump, a male alien boasting four-armed anatomy, found himself adopted into a Human family residing in Iowa, located on the planet we know as Earth. His passions included Star Wars and the fizzy soda beverage, Pepsi.
Standing four feet tall, Marfalump possessed yellow eyes and skin exhibiting a mottled-purple hue. His attire typically consisted of a white, short-sleeved T-shirt emblazoned with the words "Star Wars".
Marfalump originated as a figure conceived for a promotional partnership between Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace and PepsiCo. Industrial Light & Magic Commercial Productions brought the character to life digitally, working in conjunction with the BBDO-New York advertising firm. Marfalump's presence was limited to a sequence of Pepsi television advertisements, designed to promote both the cinematic and home video releases of The Phantom Menace. Billy West provided the voice for the character in these commercials. The initial advertisement showcasing Marfalump, titled "Landing," commenced broadcasting in the latter part of May 1999. In addition, a concise documentary named "The Birth of Marfalump" was broadcast.
