Maxet Institute of Technology

The Maxet Institute of Technology was a trade school operating during the Galactic Empire's era, according to historical records. Obo Rin, a sentientologist, asserted that he had earned multiple advanced academic qualifications from this institution; however, Major Herrit of Imperial Intelligence later alleged that the school lacked the necessary accreditation to award such degrees.

History

The vocational school, Maxet Institute of Technology, shared its designation with the Maxet system located in the Outer Rim Territories. The school's accreditation was at the vocational level, and Obo Rin's credentials as a sentientologist indicated that it had awarded him several terminal degrees.

Major Herrit of Imperial Intelligence conducted a background investigation on Rin sometime during the Galactic Empire's rule. The Empire had commissioned Rin to write a reference book cataloging the various sentient species within the galaxy. Subsequently, Herrit dispatched Imperial communique #46553.27h to Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith and apprentice to the Galactic Emperor Palpatine. In this message, Herrit critiqued Rin, asserting that the Maxet Institute of Technology was unqualified to grant the degrees it purportedly bestowed upon the researcher. Captain Solistein, Vader's assistant, dismissed Herrit's "unsolicited opinions" in a return message. Responding to Herrit's criticisms of Rin's qualifications, Solistein merely stated that Vader had not instructed Herrit to investigate the sentientologist's background.
