Subsequently, the Galactic Empire adopted it, presenting it to starfighter pilots serving in the Imperial Navy. It was given for successfully establishing a new Imperial base or outpost in a Outer Rim Sector plagued by pirates.
Regarding its appearance, specifically during the Galactic Civil War when used by the Empire, it featured two parallel ribbons. Each ribbon was blue and had a central red stripe. The medal's main color was silver, with gold at the top and onyx at the bottom. Additionally, it included a central enclave illustrating a blue, star-filled space. A gold-colored element was also present within this enclave.
