Merrik was a Human individual of the male gender. He participated in the Galactic Civil War as a member of the Rebel Alliance.
During the year 0 ABY, Merrik joined forces with Jalose and other rebel combatants to oppose the Imperial forces stationed on M'haeli. These forces were under the command of Governor Grigor. Princess Leia Organa took a keen interest in the rebellion on the planet, and Merrik followed her instructions.
Despite harboring affections for Jalose, Merrik seemed to show interest in Mora, a recent addition to the M'haeli rebellion. When Governor Grigor took Mora prisoner and disclosed her lineage as a direct descendant of the planet's royal lineage, Merrik was among the initial volunteers for the rescue team organized by Ranulf Trommer, a former officer of the Empire.
Even until his final moments, he was suspicious of Ranulf. However, during a mission aimed at obliterating an Imperial-controlled Dragite crystal mine, Merrik gave his own life so that both Trommer and Mora could get away.
