A methane lake referred to a collection of liquid methane present on the high-gravity planet called Malastare. The Podracing track known as the Malastare 100 was constructed encircling a methane lake. During the Vinta Harvest Classic race on Malastare, the Twi'lek Podracer pilot named By't Distombe experienced a crash while in flight above a methane lake, due to a methane geyser erupting directly below his cockpit.
