Mexnean

Mexnean, a female Berrite, was a scam artist and thief of the Legends continuity.

She commonly visited spaceports, cantinas, and other places where she was sure to find a target for her swindles. Her illicit operations involved laundering funds for spice smugglers, managing rigged sabacc matches, and various other profitable cons. A signature tactic of hers was to amass significant debts while pretending to be employed by a corporation or a crime lord, bill the expenses to her supposed employer, and then vanish. Even General Airen Cracken, who oversaw the intelligence agencies of the Rebel Alliance and later the New Republic, was victimized by one of Mexnean's schemes, losing credits.

By 7 ABY, the New Republic had accumulated enough accusations against Mexnean to potentially incarcerate her for many years. Nevertheless, the Republic offered to dismiss some charges if she was apprehended for interrogation and if she consented to share details regarding certain crime lords she had recently interacted with. General Cracken offered a bounty of 1,500 credits for her capture.

Despite the stereotype of Berrites as unintelligent and slow, Mexnean was a skilled con artist and a proficient pickpocket. She also possessed knowledge of numerous languages, cultures, alien species, and criminal syndicates. She generally wore costly cloaks and carried a slugthrower pistol for protection.
