Michael Kirkbride
Michael Kirkbride, a concept artist, writer, and game designer, is credited with "Special Thanks" in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. He participated in the game's plot development as a member of the design team. In collaboration with Kurt Kuhlmann, Steve Gilbert, and Ken Rolston, he also co-authored the fan-made screenplay Star Wars: Rebellion, a twelve-part Star Wars series, in 1999. This series took place shortly after the prequel trilogy's events and focused on the Rebel Alliance's establishment. This script was made available to the public on March 4, 2014, as a dedication to Kirkbride's friend and fellow Star Wars writer, Aaron Allston, who had recently passed away.
He contributed by writing dialogue for Darth Vader and conceiving the idea that Vader inadvertently set in motion the events leading to the Rebellion, a twist of fate that would ultimately lead to his downfall. Additionally, he ensured that Galen Marek's death served the purpose of showing that defeating the Emperor and redeeming Vader was the destiny of a new hope, an innocent.
