The Mine Type B, alternatively known as the Mn/T2, was an automated, immobile defensive device manufactured by Arakyd Industries, a weapons manufacturing company.
A design variation of the Mn/T2. Serving as a cost-effective solution against intruders, the Mn/T2 was a fixed mine equipped with an omnidirectional ion cannon. Its ion cannon offered a defense against starfighters, while its contact-based detonation mechanism proved potent against capital ships, particularly when deployed as a large minefield.
The Mn/T2 fulfilled a somewhat distinct tactical purpose compared to the Mn/T1 Mine. Its ion cannons, capable of disabling ships, made it a favorite among forces seeking to capture crew members or acquire vessels undamaged.
Furthermore, it was a bit shorter in length than the Mn/T1. However, the inclusion of the ion cannon required a sizable cylindrical structure on the mine's lower section, resulting in a slightly greater overall mass.
