Mission 9: Jump to Subspace

Mission 9: Jump to Subspace, a scenario for starfighter combat, is the ninth such scenario designed for the Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game. It was released as a rules addition within the Rebel Aces Expansion Pack.

Narrative Overview

In this scenario, a Rebel agent is holding a high-ranking Moff prisoner inside an escape pod. The Rebel Alliance dispatches a rescue team composed of A-wings and B-wings to retrieve them. However, the Empire intercepts the rescue operation, leading to a confrontation.

Initial Configuration

Rebel Forces: A 100-point squadron is required, which must include a minimum of one A-Wing and one B-wing. At least one of these ships must be piloted by a Unique Pilot.

Imperial Forces: A 75-point squadron is required, and the use of large-base ships is prohibited.

The Imperial player begins by positioning one of the six asteroid tokens in the designated asteroid setup area. This placement must adhere to the following restrictions: it cannot be within Range 3 of the Imperial edge or the neutral edges of the play area, and it must not be within Range 1 of the Rebel edge. Subsequently, the Rebel player selects one of the remaining asteroid tokens and places it within the setup area. This alternating placement continues until all six asteroid tokens have been positioned. Asteroids must be placed at least Range 1 away from any other asteroid. Following this, the Rebel player positions the escape pod token within Range 2 of the Imperial edge, ensuring it is equidistant from the two neutral edges.

Next, starting with the Rebel player, each player takes turns deploying their ships into one of two designated deployment areas for their faction. Rebels must deploy within Range 2 of their edge's left corner and within Range 2 of the Imperial Edge and range 1 of their right neutral edge, while Imperials deploy within Range 2 of the right Rebel corner and within Range 2 of the Imperial Edge and range 1 of their right neutral edge. A minimum of 25 points worth of ships must be positioned in each deployment zone.

The Imperial player is granted initiative.

Victory Conditions

The Rebel player achieves victory if the escape pod successfully escapes off the Rebel edge of the playing area.

The Imperial player wins by eliminating all Rebel starfighters.
