These butterflies would occasionally blanket every tree and bush visible within the jungle's confines. Serving as a food source for the indigenous Yrashu people, the mmhmm butterflies could be harvested in a manner similar to gathering ripe fruit. While the insect's body contained poison, its wings were prized for their sweet flavor.
The initial mention of the mmhmm butterfly occurred in "The Way of the Yrashu," a Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game adventure penned by Dustin Browder and featured in Star Wars Adventure Journal 2, which saw publication in May of 1994.
