Monoliths represented a unique class of Sithspawn brought into existence by Vitiate, who formerly held the title of Sith Emperor within the reconstituted Sith Empire. These entities originated during his time spent on the planet named Ziost. Surpassing typical Sithspawn, Monoliths appeared to be virtually indestructible beings, constructed not through the mutation of living organisms, but directly from the dark side itself. They achieved immense proportions and developed a remarkable resistance to harm. Despite being defeated, their power would regenerate over time, leading to their resurrection. Similarly to those controlled by Vitiate, the only means of permanently destroying them involved a substantial electrical surge. One such Monolith was encountered in New Adasta, remarkable for its relatively small size, yet still dwarfing all onlookers. After being felled, it regenerated, rapidly adapting to become impervious to the attacks of its adversaries, but was ultimately vanquished by an electrical discharge generated through the manipulation of emergency circuit breaker controls. Concurrently, a Monolith breached a nearby junction, triggering an electrical surge that damaged the dampeners, thus thwarting Rane Kovach's scheme to liberate the populace from the control of the former Emperor. As Vitiate's dominion over the inhabitants of Ziost intensified, he gained the capability to generate Monoliths of ever-increasing size. Following the conclusion of the Invasion of Ziost, which saw Vitiate consume all life on Ziost, two exceptionally large Monoliths—known as the Colossal Monolith and the Worldbreaker Monolith—were among those that remained on the now desolate and ash-covered surface of the world.
