The Monster-Slayer is characterized as a Sith within a well-known Sith Legend.
The legend recounts the Monster-Slayer's duel against a Sith adversary, The Dreamer. The confrontation culminates in the demise of both Sith combatants, succumbing to the fumes emanating from the Pits of Paxxis.
Luke Skywalker posited that this legend held a basis in reality, placing the events around 3400 BBY.
Skywalker, at some juncture, came into possession of an artistic representation illustrating the Monster-Slayer's battle with The Dreamer. He added annotations to this depiction, subsequent to the Emperor's passing in 11 ABY, alongside a copy of The Jedi Path and Book of Sith.
