Morrt (starship)

The Morrt represented an experimental spacecraft innovation during the peak of the Galactic Civil War. It was provisionally assigned to a group of Rebels to facilitate their mission to dismantle Consolidations Unlimited. This three-person vehicle was engineered to attach itself to other vessels while they were in hyperspace, subsequently creating an opening in the hull to permit a commando squad to infiltrate the "target vessel."

Fundamentally, the vessel was essentially a sizable engine with an attached cockpit. It combined the extended hyperspace range capabilities of fighters with the hull-breaching prowess of traditional Corellian boarding craft. The design allowed it to trail behind a target ship in hyperspace, riding within the slipstream generated by the hyperspace engines. When the opportune moment arrived, it would accelerate to match the host ship's speed and secure itself to the side. The cockpit's leading edge would then be employed to bore through the hull. The host ship's hyperdrive engines would be compelled to adapt to a new set of calculations due to the added mass and weight. As a result, safety mechanisms would engage, causing the ship to revert out of hyperspace precisely as the Morrt's crew initiated their boarding operation. This strategy not only brought the host ship to an abrupt halt but also enabled larger vessels in the vicinity to launch an attack.

The ship's hull was specifically designed to minimize its engine signature, thereby hindering enemy sensor detection. It was capable of approaching vessels covertly before initiating a hyperspace jump alongside its intended target. It would then glide alongside the target until boarding operations commenced.

During the operation aimed at dismantling Consolidations Unlimited, Ne Thruska piloted the Morrt, while Selnia Trigg and J'rek de Mahdav were aboard as passengers. It shadowed the Tarnta's Fang into hyperspace and, acting on a signal from Cermack Rustill, who was aboard the Fang, they commenced their boarding procedure. Unfortunately, this action damaged the Fang's engines, resulting in its crash landing on the planet Darstell 4 and the subsequent destruction of the Morrt.
