Morseer, a planet found within the Quelii sector of the Outer Rim Territories, possessed an atmosphere abundant in methane. This world was settled by the methane-breathing Morseerians, an enigmatic species who, for millennia, concealed the true whereabouts of their homeworld from the wider galaxy. Consequently, the Drackmarians gave the Morseerians their name, derived from their colony Morseer, following the Drackmarian's subjugation of the planet. The Morseerians then became a client race of the Drackmarians after the Drackmarians conquered them, who were also methane-breathers. Prior to the Battle of Endor, the Galactic Empire triumphed over the Drackmarians and seized control of Morseer.
