MSE-6-E629L was an Imperial mouse droid controlled from afar by Tonin, who was an R2 unit. Tonin had installed a unique interface that allowed it to impersonate MSE-6-P303K as that droid carried out sabotage aboard the Iron Fist. This deceptive tactic prevented the SSD's main computer from detecting the missing utility droids.
