A devastating mudslide struck the eastern part of Naboo's secondary continent in 22 BBY, resulting in a catastrophic event. The majority of a local village was obliterated, leaving only eight children alive; these survivors were all passengers on a school transport. Yané, a former handmaiden, along with her wife, Saché, provided shelter for these children. Within four days, half of the orphaned children were taken in by relatives, but the remaining four, all cousins, continued to reside with Yané. In response, the Naboo planetary legislative assembly, where Saché served as a member, deployed assessment teams to the location of the mudslide and adjacent areas. Furthermore, they enlisted engineers to create innovative safety measures, sought advice from farmers regarding optimal strategies for additional terracing of the surrounding hills, and established medical funds to ensure the well-being and care of the orphaned children from the planet Naboo disaster.
