Murl, a Toydarian operating as both a slicer and doctor, hailed from Corellia, where he practiced medicine during the Galactic Empire's reign. Sometime between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the archaeologist Chelli Lona Aphra, accompanied by the smuggler Sana Starros, sought out Murl's assistance. Aphra's electro-tattoos had been damaged while she was using a Thought Dowser on the Crimson Dawn's Vermillion Fortress-Flagship. They hoped Murl could fix them. Murl stated his inability to repair the tattoos; instead, he suggested excising them from Aphra's arm for a fee of one hundred credits. Aphra rejected this proposition, after which Murl lowered his price to fifty credits, but Starros declared their departure to the Toydarian. Ultimately, the Tagge Corporation repaired and enhanced Aphra's tattoos.
