The sentient, winged beings known as Toydarians originated from Toydaria, a planet situated in Hutt Space. They are a distinct species. Beyond their capability of flight, Toydarians are characterized by their elongated snouts, webbed feet, and resistance to mental manipulation via the Force. King Katuunko governed the Toydarians during the Clone Wars. Initially, they maintained neutrality in the Clone Wars, but they eventually allied with the Galactic Republic.
Toydarians, a humanoid species, resemble fly-like creatures due to their wings, snout, and webbed feet. Their wings enable them to levitate above the muddy terrain of their homeworld. Like many other inhabitants of the galaxy, Toydarians begin as infants and mature into larger beings. Their skin is blue and green, and they possess facial tusks beneath their trunk-like snouts. Toydarians are recognized for their strong will and resilience against mental manipulation through the Force.
Toydarians, with their ability to hover over Toydaria's mud flats, construct nests in the marshy atmosphere of their home planet. However, they build their palaces atop mountain peaks. They organize themselves into clans, and Toydarian clan bells serve as identifiers for members of noble families. These beings move in groups. A monarchy was the form of government for the Toydarians during the Clone Wars period.
The Toydarians, native to Toydaria, were under monarchical rule during the final decades of the Galactic Republic, with King Katuunko reigning during the Clone Wars.

In 22 BBY, during the Clone Wars involving the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Republic aimed to establish agreements with the Toydarian government. Consequently, they initiated a mission to the moon of [Rugosa](/article/rugosa], overseen by Jedi Grand Master Yoda. However, upon arrival in the system, Yoda's cruiser faced an ambush from two Separatist Munificent-class star frigates. This was orchestrated by Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress to compel Yoda to abandon the system, allowing the Separatists to take over negotiations.
Despite her efforts, Yoda, accompanied by three clone troopers, successfully landed on the surface. There, they were compelled to combat Ventress's army of battle droids. After a drawn-out battle between Yoda, the clones, and Ventress's droids, the Jedi Master confronted the Sith assassin and the Toydarian king. Separatist leader Count Dooku had ordered the king's execution, but Yoda intervened, causing Ventress to flee Rugosa. This allowed the Republic to successfully secure Toydaria's alliance in the war.
Later in the conflict, Savage Opress, a Sith apprentice, killed Katuunko.
Watto, a Toydarian, operated as a junk dealer on Tatooine in the period leading up to the war. He owned slaves, including Shmi Skywalker and her son Anakin.
During the Imperial Era, Walisi, a Toydarian merchant, managed Walisi's Elegant and Exotic Artifacts alongside his protocol droid RT-3PO. However, Wrecker, also a Toydarian, kidnapped Walisi. Unlike Walisi, Wrecker was a mercenary leader, hired by Jerserra, a surviving Nightsister, to abduct Walisi and steal the Tragic Hope. This artifact contained the Nardithi Nightsisters' Nardithi Cluster, and Jerserra wanted to prevent the merchant from selling it.
Zabaka, a female Toydarian, was the owner of a toyshop located in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu.
