The facial feature belonging to the smuggler Han Solo, a human.
Serving the purpose of respiration and olfaction, a nose was a component of the anatomy present in certain species. However, some species did not have noses; examples include Bith, Duros, Kallidahins, Neimoidians, and Quermians. Despite lacking noses, Bith could still detect scents through specialized organs located under the skin flaps on their faces. Similarly, Quermians used olfactory glands in their hands for smelling. Additionally, some individuals, such as Chieftain Gruppe and Jedi Knight Rooper Nitani, practiced nose piercing and adorned the resulting hole with jewelry.
The nasal structure of a human parent could be genetically inherited by their offspring. As an example, Ben Solo shared the same prominent nose as his father, Han Solo.
