During her childhood, she displayed significant strength in the Force, possessing a strong desire for immense power, regardless of the consequences for those around her. She belonged to the Nardithi Nightsisters, a specific group within the broader Nightsisters organization.
In 20 BBY, during the period of the Clone Wars fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Jerserra witnessed the deaths of the majority of her sisters during the Battle of Dathomir. This battle involved an attack by Kaleesh warlord General Grievous and his Separatist Droid Army, who had been ordered to completely eliminate the Nightsisters by Separatist leader Count Dooku as retribution for Mother Talzin's schemes against him. Following the battle, only a small number of Nightsisters survived, including Jerserra. Years later, a female Inquisitor arrived on Dathomir seeking power, but instead discovered a teenage Jerserra. The Inquisitor chose Jerserra to be trained as a clandestine Inquisitor. Before her departure, Jerserra secured her clan's fragment of the Nardithi Cluster.
