The Mustafar Sith holocron was an ancient holocron. It was discovered on the volcanic planet of Mustafar approximately 1.5 years following the Battle of Yavin.

History

Prior to the Galactic Civil War, the holocron had been misplaced on Mustafar for an undetermined duration. At some point following the Battle of Yavin, a mining droid stumbled upon the artifact in Mustafar's desolate landscape. However, since these droids lacked any interest in such objects, the droid sent the coordinates to the central computer and resumed its work. Shortly afterward, the mining droid suffered a breakdown and was unable to return for repairs.

Later, the protocol droid Q4P3 learned of the discovery through communications with other droids at the Mensix Mining Facility. Q4P3 was on a quest to find another artifact, known as the "Codex," for his master Pann, and he believed he had finally located it. The protocol droid lacked the capability to traverse the volcanic terrain, so he remained at the Mensix Mining Facility, awaiting assistance. In 1.5 ABY, he encountered a heavily armed spacer who agreed to journey to the droid's wreckage and retrieve the coordinates from its memory banks. The acquired data led the spacer to the location of ancient ruins, where he unearthed the relic from a pile of debris. As soon as he was holding the holocron, he was confronted by multiple Trinity Assassins from the Force organization known as the Blackguard, who were guarding the artifact.

Upon the spacer's return to Q4P3, the droid examined the relic and determined that it was not the "Codex" he sought. Although most of the stored data appeared to be corrupted, he managed to extract a fragment of information: "...was going according to plans until yesterday. The weakling Jedi has some sort of secret weapon and I can feel the effects of it already now. I can sense that our master knows what it is, but he has revealed nothing, only forced us to press on even harder..."

Q4P3 provided the spacer with a generous payment and allowed him to keep the holocron.

Behind the scenes

The holocron was a reward in Trials of Obi-Wan. This was the third expansion pack for Star Wars Galaxies before the game's shutdown on December 15, 2011. After locating the mining droid and recovering the holocron, the player was forced to battle several attacking Trinity Assassins and then return to Q4P3. The holocron could be activated once per hour and temporarily enhanced the player's combat abilities.
