Pann

Pann was a Jedi Knight of the Human species (specifically, a male individual) who dedicated himself to the service of the Jedi Order. His time with the Order occurred during the declining years of the Galactic Republic.

Biography

Due to his inherent Force-sensitive nature, Pann was brought to the Jedi Temple located on Coruscant. There, he underwent training in the Jedi arts at the Temple's academy. After being chosen as a Padawan, Pann ultimately succeeded in completing his Trials of Knighthood. Consequently, the Jedi High Council elevated him to the rank of Jedi Knight. During his period of learning, Jedi Pann developed a strong interest in the Codex, an age-old relic that had been created centuries prior. He enlisted the help of a protocol droid called Q4P3 to aid in his research, and the droid embarked on a widespread journey to find it. Simultaneously, the Clone Wars started, pitting the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Pann reported to Coruscant and took on the role of a General within the Grand Army of the Republic, participating in battles across numerous war zones. This continued until the war concluded, and the Galactic Empire rose to power, leading to the dissolution of both the Jedi Order and the Republic. Pann managed to survive the terrible events of the Great Jedi Purge and went into hiding, hoping that Q4P3 would eventually return with the Codex. Around 1 ABY, the droid, having been drawn to the volcanic planet of Mustafar, finally located the artifact and brought it back to Pann for him to study. After significant time and effort, Pann gained some understanding of its functions before it was lost from his possession.

Behind the scenes

The character of Pann was initially conceived as an example to demonstrate an adventure concept within the Star Wars Gamemaster Handbook. For some time, his official existence within the Star Wars universe was uncertain. However, it was later confirmed in Trials of Obi-Wan, which was the third expansion released for Star Wars Galaxies.
