Mutiny on the Advent

The mutiny that transpired on the Advent was an event that took place in 48 BBY on the Advent, a cargo freighter whose mission was to transport food to a star system suffering from famine. During the course of this mutiny, Rael Averross, the leading Jedi responsible for the ship's safety, chose to face the mutineers with his Padawan Nim Pianna in the Advent's cargo bay, rather than adhering to standard protocols and regaining control of the ship's bridge. This confrontation in the cargo bay, between the mutineers and the two Jedi, led to Pianna's death when she was struck by a slicer dart, causing her to momentarily attack her Master, who was then forced to kill her with his lightsaber.

Aftermath

When the mutiny concluded, the mutineers had either been defeated or taken into custody. Upon his return to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Averross faced a trial conducted by the Jedi High Council, who determined that his actions were justified in order to protect the lives of those aboard the Advent. Following the trial, Averross was given an eight year assignment to tutor Princess Fanry of a certain planet; he dedicated himself fully to this assignment as a way of atoning for his apprentice's passing.
