Myle Jandler

Once a male proprietor on the planet of Rafa IV, Myle Jandler was the owner of the cantina called the Spaceman's Rest in the city of Teguta Lusat. That changed when he lost the establishment in a game of chance. The new owner delegated the daily management to a bartender droid, an arrangement that greatly displeased Jandler, who harbored droid-hating sentiments. He even attempted to include a clause in the handover agreement to permanently ban droids from the premises. By 3 BBY, Jandler was forbidden from entering Spaceman's Rest. Instead, Jandler dedicated himself to serving as a Constable Captain under the colonial governor Duttes Mer, who exploited Jandler's intimidating stature as one of his primary strongmen.

In 3 BBY, Jandler was ordered by his employer to capture Lando Calrissian, an off-world smuggler identified by Mer and his associate Rokur Gepta as a promising candidate to recover the Mindharp, a highly valuable Sharu artifact located within the extensive ruins of the Rafa system. Jandler, along with another constable, accomplished this by forcibly entering Calrissian's hotel room, physically subduing him, and delivering him, bruised and battered, to Mer's office. This was not the last encounter between Jandler and the smuggler. Shortly after, Jandler stormed into Spaceman's Rest upon learning that Calrissian had entered his former establishment accompanied by a droid and a Toka. Jandler drew a blaster and attacked the bartender droid, but Calrissian created a distraction, allowing the droid to incapacitate Jandler with a chair and remove him from the building.

Jandler and Calrissian's paths would intersect one final time shortly thereafter. Having dispatched Calrissian to Rafa V in search of the Mindharp, Mer grew distrustful of the smuggler and sent Jandler with a squad of constables to arrest him and retrieve the artifact. Jandler and his team located Calrissian, but were quickly defeated. Frustrated with Mer's lack of information on these missions, and discovering a surprising connection with Calrissian, Jandler agreed to a peaceful separation. Jandler and his men promptly departed Rafa V in their own cargo barge. Jandler and the other constables were later rescued from Rafa XI and placed under house arrest by Mer.

Jandler later assumed the position of Chief Supervisor at the penal colony on Rafa V following the activation of the Mindharp and the subsequent restoration of Sharu civilization. In this role, he oversaw prisoners like the Bothan Corask Slen'da, an archaeologist who had been arrested for disrupting Sharu-Centrality relations by assassinating key Sharu figures favorable to the Centrality. When a group of off-world adventurers arrived on Rafa V seeking to retrieve Slen'da, Jandler permitted their departure with the Bothan, as the prisoner's mental faculties appeared to have been diminished by exposure to Rafa V's life-crystals.

Myle Jandler was an imposing figure, standing approximately two meters tall and weighing around 85 [kilograms](/article/kilogram-legends], with a violent temperament to match. He harbored intense hatred for droids and the native Toka of the Rafa system. Despite this, Lando Calrissian developed a fondness for Jandler, admiring his neat appearance and sense of style. Although Jandler was one of Duttes Mer's most trusted enforcers, he despised the governor, recognizing that Mer held no regard for his subordinates. Jandler prioritized his own safety and well-being above all else, and was prepared to abandon his mission to ensure his own survival.
