The nano-destroyer was a man-made virus that systematically annihilated the host's body at a cellular level. Seven years following the Battle of Endor, Mon Mothma contracted an illness caused by nano-destroyers. These were engineered on Carida and administered by Ambassador Furgan, who contaminated a beverage with the virus before splashing it onto the Chief of State's face. This virus had the ability to fuse with the cells of those infected, granting them extraordinary abilities such as enhanced strength, speed, and rapid healing. However, after bonding with the living tissue, it induced mutations, transforming victims into unthinking creatures driven solely by the need to consume other life forms. A remedy for this virus existed, reportedly created on Carida too.
