A nesting cell, also known as a nesting chamber, was situated within the underground caverns that lay beneath the Path of the Open Hand compound on the planet called Dalna. Ferize, the Kessarine, along with her associates Fel Ix and Er Dal, utilized this cell to incubate their eggs, maintaining the darkness and warmth they desired. Similar to the other caves, the chamber's construction involved dark-pink stone, yet it also featured sun opal veins throughout its walls and ceiling. The chamber floor was composed of small, fine gravel.
The Kessarine were still inhabiting the nesting chamber at the time the underground caverns experienced a flood. Although Fel Ix managed to flee to the surface, his family members and offspring became confined within the cell until Marda Ro and Kevmo Zink came to their aid and rescued them. Following the flood's recession, the cell underwent complete restoration, and the Kessarine family returned to reside there. When the Mother set the Leveler loose upon Zink and his master Zallah Macri, Zink, though not immediately killed, journeyed to the nesting chamber, where he eventually passed away in Ro's embrace. Subsequently, Azlin Rell discovered Zink's mortal remains within the chamber.
