The term nidôsh originated from the language of the Korunnal, signifying "clan-child" and carrying the alternative meaning of orphan. In the event that a child's parents met their demise prior to their naming ceremony, the child would transition into a nidôsh, adopting the name of their ghôsh as their own identity. Prominent examples of individuals who were nidôsh include Mace Windu and Nick Rostu.
