Frank Hewetson, a Greenpeace activist, is Gold's husband. He faced imprisonment in Russia during 2013 for his demonstrations against Russian oil exploration within the Arctic Ocean. Together, they have two children named Nell and Joe. Their son, Joe Hewetson, took on the role of a Resistance officer in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.
