Nus Whales were beings that originated from the planet Dorumaa. These creatures were capable of growing up to twenty meters within one year if they had sufficient access to food. A single group of Nus Whales was known to inhabit the oceans of Dorumaa around 31 BBY, composed of twelve female members (referred to as cows) and ten males (referred to as bulls). The bulls measured at least 100 meters in length, possessing the capacity to consume an entire fishing vessel in one bite, while the cows ranged from 80 to 90 meters in length. Although they are named whales, Nus Whales reproduced by depositing eggs that were concealed in the ocean depths and required multiple years to hatch.
A Nus Whale could readily devour a fishing vessel, for example, the Icon. However, certain fisherbeings, like Drac Gerrat, the captain of the Icon, harbored the ambition of hunting (or fishing) a Nus Whale in order to refine its bones and market them as good-luck tokens.
