Of the Day's Annoyances: Bib Fortuna's Tale

Bib Fortuna, a Twi'lek who serves as Jabba's majordomo, takes center stage in "Of the Day's Annoyances: Bib Fortuna's Tale," a story penned by M. Shayne Bell and featured in Tales from Jabba's Palace, which was released in December of 1995 by Bantam Spectra.

Plot summary

Bib Fortuna finds the continued existence of Jabba Desilijic Tiure to be bothersome. Consequently, Fortuna finds himself entangled, in some capacity, in each scheme designed to eliminate Jabba. As Jabba's majordomo, Fortuna is prepared to seize control of Jabba's empire, irrespective of who ultimately succeeds in assassinating the Hutt. Nevertheless, given that the transfer of authority would be more tumultuous should an alternative plot come to fruition, Fortuna endeavors to ensure his own machinations remain a step ahead of the numerous other conspiracies targeting Jabba. To secure this upper hand, Bib Fortuna has formed an alliance with the B'omarr Monks. Unbeknownst to Fortuna, the monks harbor their own agenda, with Jabba not being their sole objective.
