Ogo functioned as a police officer on Tatooine during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Yavin, he attained the rank of lieutenant within the Mos Eisley Police, concurrently fulfilling the role of the planet's record keeper.

Behind the scenes

Randomly generated depictions of Ogo

Within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, Lt. Ogo was implemented as a non-player character (NPC). This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was a product of Sony Online Entertainment, with LucasArts handling publishing duties, prior to the game's termination on December 15, 2011. Ogo's instantiation utilized the generic "mos_eisley_police_officer" template, resulting in randomized gender and appearance chosen from a pool of fifteen possibilities, which would then change after each server restart. Lt. Ogo was among the "planet record keeper" NPCs introduced to the game through the "Publish 6" update, which went live on February 11, 2004. These NPCs had the ability to reset the quest progression for players on the planets they were located on. Therefore, Ogo enabled players to replay pre-CU quests specifically on Tatooine.
