The droid manufacturing plant known as the Okara Droid Factory existed on the Markaran Plains of Balmorra. As part of the Imperial invasion of Balmorra, a virus was deployed into the factory's droids, causing them to attack the employees. The virus proved to be excessively effective, because even after many years, the droids remained active within the factory, and would attack any living beings who came near.
