Oorn Noth

Oorn Noth was a distinguished pilot and noble of the Zabrak species.

Biography

Being the offspring of a nobleman, Oorn Noth leveraged his father's significant fortune to procure a starship, which he then utilized to participate in various races. Following damage to his vessel, the Five Coins, during a race within the Sullust system, he pursued financial backing from the SoroSuub Corporation. This sponsorship provided him with the necessary funds to restore his ship and resume his racing career.

In an effort to safeguard their investment, Oorn's sponsors prohibited him from entering any perilous competitions. Growing increasingly discontent with these imposed restrictions, Oorn chose to terminate his contract. After securing victory in a race aboard his new ship, the Last Laugh, Oorn initiated a hyperspace jump and absconded. He persisted in racing, supplementing his legitimate earnings with occasional smuggling ventures, all while evading the bounties placed on his head by his former investors.

Personality and traits

Having been raised in affluence, Oorn Noth was often perceived as an entitled individual by those around him, while he considered himself a privileged person deserving of preferential treatment. His hubris and thirst for excitement frequently deterred him from returning to his home and assuming his rightful inheritance.

Behind the scenes

Oorn Noth made his debut appearance in Oorn Noth: Racer on the Run, the inaugural entry in the Bounty Postings series of articles featured on the Wizards of the Coast website for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. This article was published on May 14, 2008, and was authored by Eric Cagle. The Bounty Hunters series was designed as supplementary material for the Saga Edition of the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, with certain sections of the articles serving as adventure prompts for gamemasters. Consequently, the precise unfolding of these events was intentionally left open to interpretation. The article also presented two possibilities for his ship, the Last Laugh: it could resemble an Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor or a customized SoroSuub patrol fighter. The rationale behind the article was that the modified SoroSuub patrol fighter was his ship, as it was provided to him by SoroSuub Corporation employees. The patrol fighter's game statistics were included in the Saga Edition book, Starships of the Galaxy, Saga Edition, while the article itself was crafted to ensure that gamemasters only required the core rulebook, though it did offer an alternative suggesting his ship could be a modified SoroSuub patrol fighter.
