P-series droideka
The P-series droideka, alternatively known as the P-series destroyer droid, represents a droideka model manufactured by the Colicoids for use by the Trade Federation. Later, it also saw service within the ranks of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
During the Invasion of Naboo, several P-series droidekas were positioned on the Federation's Lucrehulk-class battleship, the Saak'ak. They were also actively used in the Battle of the Great Grass Plains against the indigenous Gungans.
Beyond the forces deployed during the assault on Naboo, some P-series droidekas, along with other B1 model droids, remained stationed on Lok after the Trade Federation finished using the planet as a testing ground for their Naboo invasion strategy.
Despite its speed and lethality, the P-series was considered outdated by the time the Battle of Geonosis occurred. This battle also saw the deployment of the more technologically advanced W-series.
While unable to utilize its deflector shield generator in its "wheel" mode, the P-series became nearly impervious to damage once it transitioned to its upright firing configuration. This invulnerability was even enough to frustrate the skilled Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, who opted to disengage and flee when confronted by these "destroyers" aboard the Saak'ak. However, the deflector shields were not resistant to heavy firepower, as demonstrated when Anakin Skywalker destroyed three P-series droids utilizing a Naboo starfighter. Furthermore, even an unfolded Droideka could be rendered inoperable with a well-placed surprise attack. This was exemplified during the Battle of Naboo when Jar Jar Binks inadvertently disabled one with blaster fire before it could activate its deflector shield, due to Binks' foot being tangled in the severed wiring of a battle droid.
