Paklan, a world covered in dense forests, existed as a planet within the Paklan system. This system was situated in the Nuiri sector which itself was a part of the Outer Rim. During the year 20 BBY, the Nightbrothers known as Darth Maul and Savage Opress sought shelter there. This was after Ja'Boag, the Gossam head of the Rim Commercial Mining enterprise, placed a bounty on them. Following Zika's guidance of a group of bounty hunters to their whereabouts at a local eatery, Savage and Maul killed their attackers in a brutally violent manner before escaping Paklan.
