Palpatine's apartment
The apartment of Palpatine was a collection of rooms that Sheev Palpatine maintained as his residence during his tenure as the representative of Naboo. This suite was situated on the higher stories of 500 Republica inside the Federal District of Imperial City located on the world of Coruscant. During the Naboo Invasion, the Naboo monarch, Padmé Amidala, was a guest and stayed in the apartment.
Description
Naboo's Senator, Sheev Palpatine, possessed an apartment with a Galactic City view within the upper reaches of 500 Republica. This prestigious residential building was located in the Federal District of the world Coruscant. Despite the majestic views, the apartment was modest in comparison to residences of other Galactic Senate members. Palpatine decorated the apartment in shades of red, adding unusual art and discreet security and surveillance equipment.
History
Upon their arrival on Coruscant, Senator Palpatine escorted Padmé Amidala, the ruler of Naboo, and her entourage to his apartment in 500 Republica. Anakin Skywalker, a young boy, and Jar Jar Binks, a Gungan, accompanied them. Shortly after arriving, Skywalker and Binks waited outside the apartment's sitting room, with the Gungan seated on a small chair. Captain Quarsh Panaka walked past them, entering the sitting room where Queen Amidala sat on a small couch with two handmaidens standing behind her. Panaka stood aside as Senator Palpatine paced before the queen, discussing the Galactic Senate's corruption and the unlikelihood of action regarding the Trade Federation's Naboo invasion. Queen Amidala noted that Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum believed action was possible, but Palpatine claimed the Chancellor had little power. Amidala then inquired about their options.
Approaching the young queen, Palpatine suggested that electing a new Supreme Chancellor was their best course of action, recommending a Vote of No Confidence for Valorum. Surprised, Amidala pointed out Valorum's support. Palpatine stepped back and paced, explaining that their only other option was to petition the courts. Queen Amidala, remaining seated, expressed frustration, emphasizing the urgency due to her people's suffering. Palpatine paused, offering an apologetic look before pacing again, stating they must accept Federation control for the moment. The senator then looked back to Queen Amidala as she informed him she could not do what he was suggesting. Meanwhile, outside the sitting room, Skywalker pulled Binks up from his chair and led him away.
