Paragon (city)

title: Paragon

Paragon, a colossal urban center, floated amidst the gaseous atmosphere of the planet Tyed Kant. This city was home to the vast majority (90%) of the planet's inhabitants and served as its primary administrative hub.

Description

Paragon's design resembled a massive disk, distinguished by soaring skyscrapers above and extensive power generation facilities, repulsor support systems, and stabilizing fins extending far beneath. Despite its location within the habitable zone of Tyed Kant, where breathable air existed, the planet's environment fostered a high concentration of bacteria, necessitating the use of complete enviro-suits for protection. A comprehensive deflector shield protected the Freemarket and Metropolis areas completely, preserving the atmosphere and enabling unrestricted movement for the city's residents.

The outermost section of Paragon was equipped with sophisticated starport facilities, managed by advanced technical droids owned and operated by the city. This arrangement led to significantly quicker repair services compared to other locations, although these services came at a higher cost. Immediately inside this outer perimeter was the Freemarket, a spacious avenue forming a circular ring with a five-kilometer diameter, encompassing warehouses, commercial offices, financial institutions, publicly accessible computer networks, and a diverse array of sophisticated fraudulent schemes.

Contained within the Freemarket was the Metropolis, a densely populated urban area. The cost of living here was notably high, approximately three times the standard galactic rate for most goods and services, with the exception of food, which was abundantly produced locally.

History

When the sun of the nearby planet Demophon began its supernova phase, Overseer Xun Garret dispatched the majority of official Imperial forces to aid in the evacuation efforts. However, public order within Paragon was maintained effectively by the city's extensive private security forces. Overseer Garret also enacted legislation prohibiting energy weapons on Tyed Kant, prioritizing their elimination. Consequently, acquiring an energy weapon within Paragon was exceedingly difficult, even through illicit channels on the black market.
