Demophon, a major star within the Demophon system, met its end as a red giant. This star, nearing its final stage, underwent a supernova explosion, which led to the destruction of the entire system during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
Back in 22 BBY, a scientific investigation was conducted on the star by researchers at the University of Sanbra, and the results were made public at 13:3:14. Deakis Ronse, a professor of Cosmology, detailed how they observed chromospheric instabilities along with spectrographic readings that showed the ejection of both iron and carbon. Their conclusion was that Demophon had a limited lifespan, predicting a supernova event within the next 50 to 75 standard years, or the coming century. However, the supernova occurred much sooner than anticipated.
