Pedetsen was a Cadet within the Imperial Navy at the time of a crucial conflict in the history of the Rebellion. As part of the crew of the OSETS 2711, he served under Lieutenant Virar Needa during the Rogue Squadron's operation to liberate Coruscant. Initially, when Rogue Squadron seized control of the OSETS 2711, Pedetsen took no action, as he believed it was a standard transfer, influenced by Needa's assurances. However, when the mirror was employed to create a breach in a Golan III Space Defense Platform, Pedetsen and the rest of the crew of OSETS 2711 understood their actual role in the battle.
Upon the arrival of the New Republic fleet within the atmosphere, Lieutenant Needa promptly ordered the mirror crew to take up their positions and prepare to defend against the Rebel attack. Cadet Pedetsen, demonstrating a clear understanding of the situation, recognized that their mirror possessed no weaponry and therefore stood no chance against the overwhelming firepower of the invading fleet. Consequently, he suggested that they wait and surrender to the new authority, understanding that the New Republic would require skilled mirror crews to effectively manage Coruscant. He even presented Lieutenant Needa with a concept that would allow him to salvage his reputation in light of his cousin, Lorth Needa's, demise, by attributing it to Lorth's "secret rebel sympathies."
