A photon fizzle was a type of drink that incorporated quanta as an ingredient. You could buy it at eateries such as Doodnik's Café on the planet of Tyne's Horky, and also at Dex's Diner which was located on Coruscant.
Besalisk cook Dexter Jettster made the beverage while working as a mixologist at Doodnik's Café, which was situated on the planet of Tyne's Horky. The fizzles were also on the menu at Dex's Diner, the restaurant Jettster later established on Coruscant. This occurred sometime before the diner was destroyed within the first couple of years of the Galactic Empire's rule. They retailed for 2.7 credits. Jettster commented on his menu that he believed the best photon fizzle was made by Doodnik Sharpelz, the owner of Doodnik's Café. Consequently, Jettster had his diner prepare their photon fizzles in Sharpelz's style, using the proper amount of regular or light quanta.
In 15 BBY, photon fizzles were still being sold at Doodnik's Café. During the time that protocol droid C-3PO was briefly employed at the café, he was required to prepare three photon fizzles.
The first mention of photon fizzles was in "The Lost Prince," the fifth episode of the animated show Star Wars: Droids, which originally aired on October 5, 1985.
